Talanoa: Embedding indigenous knowledge, values and culture for Māori and Pasifika student success

August 10, 2018
1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Science Centre, Room G20, Building 302

• Are you interested in embedding indigenous values, culture and knowledge in the courses you teach?
• Are you interested in learning about how your colleagues have been embedding indigenous values, culture and knowledge in their science-focused courses?

The University of Auckland is committed to helping Maori and Pacific students succeed, but we need to figure out tangible ways we can help to make this happen.
Sonia Fonua, a CLeaR fellow and SEED grant recipient from the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences has been working with colleagues in her own faculty as well as that of Science to help them identify ways to embed or influence their teaching and learning with Maori and/or Pasifika vales, culture and knowledge.
To facilitate the sharing of her experience including the challenges and benefits Sonia is holding an event in the form of a Talanoa.
