In 2018 the He Vaka Moana fellowship showcased strength-based approaches to supporting Māori student and Pasifika student success. This year’s symposium builds on the fellows’ projects, drawing inspiration from
a Tongan proverb – ‘pikipiki hama kae vaevae manava’- as we actively work to ‘grow the fleet’ of teaching, learning and research that supports Maori and Pasifika success across UoA – and beyond.
The full day programme invites those interested in Maori student and Pasifika student success to ‘pikipiki hama’ and participate in workshop discussions and consider their role in this space.
